The Curtain Rises on the Sentinels Second Season

The moment we have all been waiting for since April 11, 2026. It’s been 5 months and 29 days, or 25 weeks and 6 days since the Indiana Sentinels have stepped on the ice for a game. This year, it’s a new team with a new mission: win or go home.

Over the offseason, Everett Thompson had to make some extremely difficult decisions on what he wanted his roster to look like this year. He had to cut ties with some fan favorites to make way for new blood. The 26-27 roster is a solid mixture of veterans and rookies that have quickly gelled after a fast paced and intense training camp to prepare for this exact moment.

“You want your leaders, your older guys to carry the weight. Especially early in the year”, said Everett Thompson. “The guys that are young that come in here and make a big difference, we love that to happen. Those are the surprises you hope for”.

The Sentinels open the season against the Minnesota Northern Lights, one of five new teams joining the FPHL this year. The Sentinels and their fans are more than understanding of how it feels to be a brand-new team to the league, and plan to give the Northern Lights the same rude awakening they were dealt last season.

“The biggest different I’ve seen is the organization”, said Noah Hippolyte-Smith, who joined the Sentinels in November last season. “Since day one it’s been so much more organized than last year and you can see the difference, it’s made on the boys on the ice”.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to see some of the top players for both the Sentinels and the Northern Lights this weekend due to the ongoing Immigration issue that has hindered all FPHL teams. The Sentinels will be missing Denver Craig, Nolan Dawson, Aldiyar Nurlan, Bogdan Vysotsky, Trent Thiessen, Ian McDonald and Marian Pazitka while former Indiana Sentinels Goaltender Chris Curr will also be unable to play.

However, the Sentinels have done a wonderful job of making lemons out of lemonade by bringing in a myriad of high-quality players to get the job done.

“We had a great week of training camp and have already gone through a lot together as a team”, remarked Sentinels rookie forward Jason Tynan. “We’ve taken steps each day to get progressively better and lead us to today.”

There are still tickets available for tonight but get them while you can! They are going to go fast. Don't forget, the first 300 fans get a "Let's Go Sents" seat cushion, and the first 40 fans get a limited edition puck!
